“The total tax revenue collected up to December this year is Rs.9.5 lakh crore, 66 percent of the budget estimates,” tweeted Adhia.
In the current fiscal, the government budgeted to collect Rs.6.47 crore in indirect taxes and Rs.7.97 lakh crore in direct taxes.
In the 2015-16 budget, direct and indirect tax collection has been pegged at Rs.14.45 lakh crore.
