Courier company DTDC Express plans to invest USD 80-100 million over the next 12-18 months in expansion and technology, a top official said on Saturday.
“We will be investing USD 80-100 million over the next 12-18 months and will be raising capital for the same within next 12-15 months to strengthen our infrastructure in operations, channel partners, sales, human resource and so on and to adopt new technology,” executive director Abhishek Chakraborty said.
The Bengaluru-headquartered company has picked up a minority stake in e-commerce driven technology start-up Llama Logisol Pvt Ltd, to help itself adopt disruptive technologies in its future growth segments of e-commerce and e-fulfilment.
The technology start up offers free pickup and packaging of parcels and ships them to the customers’ destination of choice, Chakraborty said.
DTDC has engaged former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly as its brand ambassador.
“I have endorsed many brands but this is special to me as the company is owned and run by a Bengali and has established itself as a leading courier service provider,” Sourav Ganguly said.
